Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 15, 2025
1. Overview
Wrench Keep respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information and inventory data you entrust to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Wrench Keep application.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve the Wrench Keep Service. This information is primarily divided into authentication data, user-generated inventory content, and necessary metadata to keep the app running smoothly.
3. Account and Authentication Data
When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information (such as your display name). If you authenticate using a third-party OAuth provider (such as Google), we receive your basic profile information as permitted by that provider to establish your Wrench Keep identity.
4. Inventory and User-Generated Content
As the core function of the app, we store the inventory details you log. This includes data regarding your toolboxes, organizational sections, individual tools, scanners, loose equipment, wishlist items, loaned tools tracking, and any notes or values you associate with them.
We do not sell your inventory data. The information regarding what tools you own, their purchase values, and where they are located remains your private record.
5. Photos and Uploads
If you choose to attach photos to your toolbox sections or individual tools, these images are securely transmitted to and stored by our cloud media provider, Cloudinary. We store the resulting URL in our database to display the photo back to you within the application.
6. Payment and Subscription Information
For users on our premium Pro plans, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Wrench Keep does not collect, process, or store full credit card numbers, expiration dates, or CVV codes on our servers. We solely store metadata regarding your subscription status (e.g., active, past_due, trialing) to grant you access to premium features.
7. Device, Browser, and Support Metadata
We collect standard metadata automatically when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and Wrench Keep app version. If you contact our support team, we retain the contents of that communication, including your email address, to assist you with your inquiry.
8. Offline Storage and Local Device Data
To ensure Wrench Keep remains fast and functional in shop environments with poor internet connectivity, we utilize standard browser storage mechanisms (IndexedDB and localStorage). This means portions of your tool inventory and pending actions (like a newly logged tool) may be temporarily stored directly on the device you are using until a secure connection can sync the data with our servers.
9. How We Use Information
We use your data strictly to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Wrench Keep platform.
- Generate customized tool inventory exports and PDFs upon your request.
- Process transactions and manage your premium subscription.
- Provide customer support and respond to technical issues.
10. When We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or inventory data. We only share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our platform, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential and secure.
11. Third-Party Services
We rely on specific industry-standard third-party infrastructure:
- Stripe: For processing secure subscription payments.
- Cloudinary: For securely hosting and serving your uploaded tool and section photos.
- Resend: For delivering transactional emails such as password resets and subscription receipts.
12. Data Retention
We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your Wrench Keep account, we will systematically delete your personal data and inventory records from our active databases, subject to any legal obligations to retain specific financial transaction records.
13. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data. All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Your Choices and Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you. You can export your entire tool inventory to PDF at any time via the application interface. To request full account deletion or a raw data export, please contact our support email. Note that exported PDFs may contain sensitive user-entered data (serial numbers, values, photos), and you are responsible for securing those exported files.
15. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers immediately.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
17. Contact
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at: wrenchlogapp@gmail.com.
